trouble with -6 tone and gain...

i used a 60 hz -6 tone and i couldn't reach the target voltage and my gain was on max with a 0 db one so do i just have to use the bass boost on my hu(Pioneer model with Q factor and equalizer, have it set on SUPERBASS volume 12 SLA at +4) to get the voltage i need or would it clip? or can i use the bass boost on the amp which is 6db's at 50 hz and then set my gain to the voltage i need will that work?

do you know for a fact that your h/u clips @ that level?

18-20 would probably be an acceptable volume setting to set the gains @

wow. you really have to up the volume bro.

turn bass boost off, set everything else how you will listen to it normally. use volume 20 or so and try it again. your just using too low of a volume and its putting out too little of an input signal for the amp.

ahh okay, i like the SUPERBASS the most, i'll try volume 20 and see if the gain is maxed out with it again. the max the head unit goes is 2.2 volts and i was figurin that was volume 26 with everything flat, and it was i put the dmm leads on the rca's and i got that, volume 25 was 1.5 volts, and volume 20 was 0.1 volts, SUPERBASS on at volume 20 was 2.2 volts on the speakers leads, dang nowi'm confused which i should use like turn the volume till i hit 2.2 on speaker leads of the amp then set it from there? i need 20 v, i wish head unit manuals wuld tell you what htey used to get that number or was it just EQ FLAT and that's the way it should be? i'll keep ya posted and thanks for helpin me, this is my first time doin this, just wanna get the shit understood
