Trimming wire so ring will fit?

Is it a good idea to trim down wire if you HAVE to in order to get your terminal to fit? Is it kinda like a chain, as in the weakest link? In my situation, its either use 4/0 or trim down some heavy duty 1/0 for the big 3. Later on I will find some bigger lugs but right now the big 3 is urgent lol....

just trim it mang.. or spread the terminal out if you can.. if not, just trim it from the center, so the outer most strands dont fray and bunch

Yea do like he said and trim it out of the middle. Will be fine. Either way its all getting contact so youre good.
