Will be running a 15" RD HW and im installing everything the minute my batt comes in on monday. But before this should I run out and buy some type of deadener for the trunk? Will it make a HUGE difference in loudness and decreased rattling?

Also how hard is it to do the trunk, pretty simple im guessing?

deading is always a good idea regalrdless of how much is in there. it should be easy to install in the trunk because the only major thing you really have to do is remove trunk carpeting

Its not that hard to do, and yes it does make a difference. Especially if you"re running alot of power.
Thanks for the input but can you be more specific on how much of a difference it makes? Im somewhat tight on my budget (what I want to spend on this setup) so id rather not spend like 150 and be dissapointed.

I think a buddy of mine had some dynamat extreme left over and he told me we could do my trunk lid. Could I just do that and be pretty well off?

Well before the deadener in my trunk. I would hear loud bass that was over powered by constant rattling. Now all I hear is nice clean bass.

Coool I think my car came with pretty good deadener due to the fact that it is a merc, but the license plate and trunk lid rattle alot.

the deadening from the factory is to keep outside noise out, it is not capable of handling sound pressure inside. you need some deadener, and I suggest doing the whole trunk: floor, trunk lid, sides, all of it. your car and ears will thank you

Yeah, you'll probably have to do it over a period of time. I did my entire trunk right away, but after that I noticed that the rattle had moved to other part of the car. I still find myself going to random spots inside and outside the car that have started rattling just to deaden them.

No. Do it right.

It is very well worth the investment if you want your system to sound good.

Besides lets face it, if rattles were meant to be in your music the artist would have put them there...

It is not to hard, much easier if it is warm outside or you have a heated gagarge.

There are many good brands most have the ok - good - best- to pick from

Give me a call if you need some. I can put a call in to get you a bulk pack for under 200 shipped if you need that much 36 sq feet.

The bulk packs run 350+ retail
