Thank you very muchDude this is looking really good!!
First of all thank you very much for the input but I don't really understand how this is an issue. If anyone else has any information on this issue please enlighten us.my only coomment is why not mount the amp to a piece of 1/2 ply or mdf first and then mount the wood to the metal bracket. my understanding is you never mount the amp directly to the frame of the car which is what you have done.......
But wouldn't the current still be passed through the bolt that's holding the amp to the metal strip? You basically grounded the chassis of the amp. Maybe put some rubber or something between that metal strip and the amp mounting feet so it's not metal on metal.
Not at all, its fine
Makes sense. I don't see any reason why a passenger would be reaching under the drivers seat though. But I understand your point thanks for the input.yes and no.......if someone other than him is riding in the truck and drops a cd, cell phone or something small under the seat and they don't know that is where his amp is then the problem with grounding the chassis of the amp to the truck becomes a safety issue when they go blindly reaching under the seat to retrieve what they lost. if they accidentally pull on stuff they can see then there is a chance of yanking out the power wire which could then fall back on the chassis of the amp where it would cause a dead short.
