Toyota Sienna Upgrade

I'm a newbie here that hasn't been big into the audio game since the late 90's. I'm now a wheelchair user and recently purchased a 2011 Toyota Sienna ES but its lacking majorly in the sound department. Because of the limited space due to needing cargo space I can't put anything massive in the rear. The Sienna has a storage hole in the trunk wall (attached) that I'm sure an 8 will work in but unsure of anything larger. The local shop is pushing me on a RF Punch 300-1 to push either a JL 8W3v3-4 (4 ohm) or a RF P2D4-8 (2 ohm) for the sub end and a RF Punch 200-2 with Focal Access 130CA1 5.25's for the mids/highs. I keep reading mixed reviews on RF so I come to ask your opinions on what you think is best. I'm looking for SQ over SPL. Also I perfer ported over sealed but doubt it can be done in the location.

I'd do something like a Sundown SD2 or Skar IVX 10" or 12" sealed in a fiberglass enclosure. Should be plenty of space for something like that. And if done correctly, it would look really good.

The Sundown SA-8 & the Skar IVX 10 look nice for the money. I was checking out the Boston Acoustics GTA-1105 to push it all. 70x4 and 400 to 2ohms seems plently for my needs.

I have a sienna 2012 LE that i just revamped the sound system. on that cubby where the 3rd seat goes put the amps in there. I used a pbr 300x4 for mids and highs and a sub amp on the wall braced with a plywood on the other side of the panel.

you will have a problem replacing your speakers on the rear, what i did was made a box to put under the 3rd row seat which fits 2 6"

on your dash you have 2 tweeters and a mid tweeter which is empty 3.5 tweeter will fit there, I installed a precision power 1" and have the head unit power it. I replaced the door Speaker with if im mistaken 6x9

for your sub i would go with a 2 sub dvc 2ohm on 2 separate boxes and an amp that will do 4 and 2ohm load, the reason is if you need space you can take out one of the 12" sub and your ohm load will still be fine.

pm me if you have any question on the sienna

Thanks for the tips. How hard is it to remove the dash grills and is it prewired? Also is there anything in the center dash grill? I'm considering leaving my rear 5.25's stock and running them off the h/u. As for a sub I was looking at the cubby again and there just isn't enough room for a ported box which is what I'd like. With that said I'm thinking one 2ohm 10 with between 300-500 watts. Maybe with the sub about 2-3 inches above the floor facing down and the port on the side, top or beside the sub that way the sub be protected from stuff? Did you replace your h/u and do you have any pictures of the setup?

Did the center tweet make a noticeable difference? Because my van is setup for a wheelchair I no longer have the hole in the rear that the 3rd row seat folds into. My spare tire now fills in half that area. My backseat now sits mabye 2 inches off the floor now so no luck putting anything under it. I'll post pics tomorrow.

what i would suggest is put your amps on the side where youd waste basket is at and you are right you can do a downfiring sub or a small 12x12x12 sealed box, i would suggest to get a bigger amp instead of the PBR300 so even though its a small sub box if you put a heavy duty sub in there it will still rock just make sure you get at least 3/4 mdf on yor box. look at the hifonics line. you can always add a 2nd amp for your mids and highs but if you change those 3 tweeters in the front it will make a big difference. let me know if you need any other help
