which would you pick? both come in two doors, so screw the back seat.

i'm leaning towards the FJ cruiser, gotta love that classic toyota landcruiser.

2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser

By John Stewart

On Sale: Early 2006

Expected Pricing: $20,000-$26,000

but the yaris is reminding me pretty strongly of my Scion XA, and the cruiser isn't exactly cheap.

"With a starting price of $10,950 for the basic three-door model, the manual five-seat Yaris offers mileage of 34 miles per gallon in the city and 40 mpg on the highway" - Miami Herald

i'm impressed, toyota is making waves yet again, i'm still planning to drop the mitsubishi in 2012 (when i finish college) and grab myself a quad cab toyota tundra, and do 2x18 mt's in the bed, blown through, unless toyota comes out with something else new and exciting.

gonna check out that cruiser though, it looks good from the outside, adn it's built on the same platform as the 4runner, and it's built in JAPAN, another strange thing for alot of the toyota's these days. : /

so, what do you think? any other companies making waves for 06-07?

i mean entire new cars, not just redesigns of the same models, like the 06 eclipse

also, i've got to say, with the new additions to the mercury/lincoln, and even buick! came out with the new car i saw on TV, maybe something is going on.

so it brings me back to.

just checking out honda's new SI

http://automobiles.honda.com/models/exterior_gallery.asp?ModelName=Civic+Si

it's a trunk car!!! why did they get rid of that hatch?

i'm sure that alone is going to lose them some big sales from the SPL crowd, and definately not gain any sales, becuase most people dont care either way if they're not interested in sound.
Now that's just ugly... I can appreciate a good looking foreign car... but this isn't one of them....

I still can't beleive what they did to the front of the impreza....

i just came back from costa rica, and actually saw several of the yaris's there. i hadnt heard of them before, and thought they were just some sub-compact type vehicle, and the sedans look almost just like the prius.

the fj deal looks like a japanese attempt at the neo-retro styling the american manufacturers have been moving towards. the only difference though, seems to be that the american cars have pulled it off alot better.

my vote, neither //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Looks like it would break off road...

open up a 4wheelin' magazine.. : ) not a dodge/ford/chevy in sight my man.

toyota rocks the house off road, my 1986 toyota van with 2 wheel drive rocks off road.

i buried my 1994 4runner in a canal to the window line, and kept it running and after the tow truck pulled it out, it was still running, 2 hours later.

my scion XA 2005 (rip) was hit in the passenger side at ~60 from a huge ford van, crushed the car in half, and shut off the engine, it started and sputtered out at the junk yard, i took a look, and the MAF sensor lines were all cut, so thats probably why it didn't run.

toyota's are definately durable, i'd have to see the FJ cruiser in person, it looks small in the pictures, but it's built on the 4runner chassis, so i cant imagine it being too small, as the new 4runner is as big as a ford explorer, that and it comes with 17's stock, not too standard on tiny suv-types.

honda's gone nuts, they're trying to be muscle cars from what i'm reading at honda.com, they've lost the two good things they had 1-reliability and 2-MPG

and some could say arguably looks, but goodness, since 2003, i think honda's have been getting worse and worse.

it's as big as the prius?

it has the same engine/interior as the scion XA/XB and the toyota echo, i figured it'd be the same chassis as those vehicles.

the prius is built on the corolla platform i believe? correct me if i'm wrong, but it's a bit larger than the smaller sedans.

check out the concept T model, i dont see that going to production anytime, ever.

it looks like a transformer that is going to turn into a lion or something, belongs in a cereal box.

while surfing honda's site, i found this:

http://automobiles.honda.com/models/model_overview.asp?ModelName=Ridgeline

when did that come out.. i wonder why i haven't seen any on the streets? haha, cause it probably doesn't sell, the dealers probably dont even buy them in becuase they know it wont sell.

**** the concept t, the concept r looks sexay!

wow, i hate ford, but this is impressive coming from them:

The 3.0L 24-valve Duratec V6 generates 221 horsepower and gets 21 mpg city/29 highway. It’s teamed with the class-exclusive 6-speed automatic transmission. Four valves per cylinder and dual overhead camshafts with intake variable cam timing (iVCT) enhance engine breathing and improve performance.

3.0, 221hp, 21mpg/29 hwy.

ford, caring for the environment, i'm glad they're taking steps towards making a good product, i hope thier reliability goes up, and they'll be on my good list again.

that engine is from the ford fusion.

http://www.fordvehicles.com/cars/fusion/features/specs/

which is pretty attractive for someone in thier 30's with a family, starting at 17k-25k, not bad at all.

biggest upset that ford has created to date, for me:

the mazda RX-8, i dont know how much ford actually had to do with it, but i think they might have hit it with the nerf bat, to stop it from competing with the new mustang coming out the following year.

http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/static/modelsGalleryRX8.html

check out the HP numbers, oh they didn't publish any, i wonder why, i was very disappointed on my test drive before i bought the mitsubishi.

speaking of which my mitsubishi is faster, and i'm not just talking shit, my moms 6000 pound GMC envoy is faster.

a fair race for the RX-8, i'd say that toyota yaris up there with the 1.0L VVT-I, busting out just under 100HP.
