Toyota banishes the Tacoma?

I'm sure there are some lawsuits past and pending that motivated Toyota on this issue, but I'm still impressed that they are willing to do a buyback. Many manufacturers would just deny the problem and quietly payoff any injuries/deaths.
I have an 04 Tacoma 4x4 doublecab that has been completely troublefree in the 4 years I've owned it, and I work the sh!t out of the little thing.
yeah. cant say that for domestics. but the owners will claim it so.

but its not true.

This thread is not all true.
Yes, they are buying back SOME '95-'00, but only some.

They had a problem with rust that could eventually cause some failures. They will not be buying back ALL however. You must take it to your local Toyota dealership to have them inspect it. Good news if this concerns you, they buy back for 1.5X blue book value or fix it.

My dad got a letter in the mail today about it. His Tacoma doesn't have any rust tho because we live in the south and only get snow once or twice a year.
