Totaled my car, need help buying another car

had a 01 passat and loved it. When i had a problem tho it was costly, but with the cars your are listing parts for any of those will be about the same. Great car, perfect for what i do (commute 70 miles a day).

Classy and reliability

i was planning on going to an auction to see what i could get. anybody have any experiences with auctions? any great deals?
i wouldnt reccomend auctions.

My girlfriend bought her car off as an auction vehicle (2006 ford escape for $6000). Not a bad ride, but we had to replace the starter and the heater/ac unit within the first two months of owning it. If you buy an auction vehicle, plan on putting a bit of $$$ down on it afterwards fixing the broken crap on it.

Then again, my dad buys most of his construction equipment on auction, and even after fixing crap, he makes off way better than if he bought it elsewhere
