Too much power draw?

Swapped alternator. Definitely burned the other one out. Battery tested. It's fine but was charging since I had just swapped the alternator out. So ELD it is I suppose.

From The tutorials I found online I need an 820 ohm 1/2w resistor. Does the wattage matter?

I would follow that advice exactly as given. I am sure other specs were tried and this gave the best results.
