HI, there are too many choices and I don't know which one to pick. I'm looking for a pair of component 6X8 or 5X7 for my f150. My absolute maximum is 140$ because I will also have to buy another pair of full range.

why not use an adapter and open your options to 6.5s? thats what i did with my mazda

I got a great idea. Drop the rears. Bridge the amp to the front and up the budget. Also add in extra cost to seal the doors up.

It's only worth changing to 6.5's if you really can get the speakers to perfectly seal to the door panel. if seals are not perfect, cheaper speakers the correct size with perfect seals will do better.

The Reference series you linked is good for the price - don't hesitate to run with them. Upping the budget isn't always an option. Being in Canada, your options are even more limited.

If you can get the Maximo linked above for a reasonable price with shipping to CA, and you can go through the effort of crafting perfect seals, that is a good option.

Thanks for the answers and suggestions. I think I will go with the 5X7 since that's what's already in the truck. And no need to seal, which would raise the price even more. Thanks e1.
