to fuse or not to fuse...

Fusing can also save your HO Alt from over working itself to death, fuse it near its rated power output (keep spares handy though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif ) Blowing fuses could help indicate further problems in your system and save you down time repalcing ALTs

Anything connected to a battery should be fused. A fuse will run you at most $10 for an ANL fuse holder versus a engine bay fire that could cost you thousands.

Yeah you should be fine with a 120 or something. Just keep a spare in the glove box. I fused mine at 250...but my alt is 200amp.

For those who think that there was no fuse originally...im betting that originally your alt to bat wire didnt go directly to the bat...it went into a fuse box and then to the bat.

Spend the $10 and fuse the mofo..so much better than a fire.
