To all motorcycle riders!!!!

My first bike was a 2001 GSXR 600 and it was to slow, cant imagine a 250. My insurance was cheap, but I didnt have full coverage.
Lol at a 600 being slow...

And again, lol at you saying your R6 is slow.

I own a 2009 R6, and that bike will outride me any day. I pay around 550-600 a year for insurance under my father. I dont think you would even be able to comfortably touch the ground on an R6, theyre pretty tall. Stick with a ninja 250, you could even find a good looking one for your price range (08 is when they went to the better styling i believe).

and no matter what anyone says, riding a dirtbike is a totally different animal then riding on the street with 4k pound missiles coming at you.

hmm...what's wrong with the ninja?
Slow, cheap, looks cheap, has been rebuilt 3 times, and just a POS IMO. I believe the new Ninja 250's are decent, however. I'd go with at least a 600. I learned how to ride on the 750 and never had a problem, never wrecked, never laid it down. I'm 150 lbs and it never intimidated it or gave me struggle and it is pretty heavy.

I'd get a dualsport...something like a ktm 450 or 525. Way different then what you've been asking about, but that's just me. I've been riding dirtbikes since I was little so that's what would be most fun for me
My dad's 450

i completely disagree, if he has never driven a motorcycle before, there is no way he needs to step his legs around a 105 hp 600cc motorcycle, thats asking for trouble.

This.. New Ninja's would be an alright bike to start with. You'll think rain doesn't hurt until your stuck riding back home on the highway, hahaha.

i got a chance to ride a newer ninja, and i surprisingly liked it. I would not buy a new one, find a used one and ride it for a year. sell it and buy something newer/bigger if youre comfortable.

Yeah, it really depends on person. We have a bike learning course around here. I'd take that if I were you if offered whereabouts you live anyway you look at it would be beneficial to take.

im jealous...i drive a 94 pickup at the moment. Ive had a few over the years, but nothing newer then a 94. Hoping to find a nice regular cab body to do a 3.4 swap in...

Talk to friends and family about their motorcycles and see what they might have and if they are willing to let you learn with it. Perhaps someone you know already has say a Ninja or the like that would be good for you to mess around with. Then after you get a good feel then decide on what you want to do about your future owned bike.

I've already signed up for a course for next month. Hopefully I'll get my license then too

The new 250 ninjas seem alright for a beginner, but for anyone with experience a 250 would be way too slow. There's a couple guys that ride them around here and they just sound gutless
I have no exp. and is pretty gutless lol
