to all chevy blazer owners

i might be getting a used 1995 blazer 2wd with the 4.3 v6 in it. i wanted to know how your blazer has treated you, reliability, mpg, easy audio installations, anything. you feedback is much appreciated
i have a 4dr 98 GMC Jimmy, have had it for 2yrs or so now

reliability: Motor runs strong, ****** shifts well and smooth. Ive replaced radiator once, a/c unit once, and done one tune up to it.

MPG: 20 city/highway, this is goin 65mph and takin it easy

audio: Alt is easy to get to, battery tray could be a little bigger but it works well. Wire is either gonna have to go through the fire wall or under. Mine was ran under and came into the cabin under the rear seats. Alt is on top and also very easy to get to/change. Back area is like 37.5" x 15.5" x 32", across x hight x depth, staying under the window line. If u dont care about the window line then i think 19.5" and i didnt lose any visibility.

hope some of this helps

that's the thing with GM. my grandfather and uncle have a farm in nebraska and they have chevys and fords with 300,000+. that's a work truck on dirt roads and thru pasture, not easy street driving. they get a bad rep. from people who have had bad luck or just don't maintenance their vehicles enough.
moms 95 lumina has 277k on the clock and just recently started showing ****** problems...she got it when it had 180-190k on it and it ran PERFECT.

yep. if you drive 10,000 miles on the same oil, don't get a GM vehicle. i traded my sonoma at 150,000 miles. just pay real close attention to all your fluids and you'll be fine.
If you run 10k miles between oil changes and you use conventional oil then likely reliability isn't going to be outstanding no matter what you drive. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

seriously, every 2 weeks? damn
When I drove a cab some years ago the fella that owned the cab I drove was religious about keeping the fluids changed regularly. He spent heaps of cash on car maintenance but it paid off in the end as regularly people would call the cab company requesting his cabs specifically because word had gotten out that he ran clean cars and no raggedy trash. Keep in mind the worst two lives a 4-door passenger car, whether properly equipped or not, can live is either as a taxicab or a police car.

When you rack up miles that quickly oil changes every two weeks if not more frequent isn't all that uncommon.

i only drive probably 3-4k miles a year and always change my oil regularly
Jesus, what do you do work down the street or something? I work 10 mins away now and have only had my new car 7 months and I am right at 12000 miles, lol! Get out more mang! I also have two vechichles, lol! I rarely drive the other one. Waiting till spring so I can sell it.

Anyway, I loved my 1994 S-10 with the 4.3L in it. Gets up and goes when you need too and never had a problem with it. I actually gave it too my dad after I had it for about 2 years and he drove it for another 5 and then he sold it to his buddy he works with for 4g's and it has been about 3 more years and the truck is still running strong. Only thing I know that needed replaced was the bed of the truck as it was rusting pretty good. They are known for that. Anyway yours is a blazer, but with the same eng. So was just commenting on that even know they are basically the same thing. Good luck and have fun.

im on my 3rd s10,94 pickup 89 blazer and now a 96 blazer, my 89 wasnt taken care and abused, it didnt last me long after i got it, my 96 4 door was well taken care of before bought it with 140k now have over 160 on it, i had the head gasket done and the fuel pump, other then that its has treated me great, ive driven it on many road trips 8 hours out to ohio for a car show, 14 hours to ky for db drag finals and will drive it down to sbn in the spring, and this is with a massive wall in the back, like has been stated treat them well they will treat you well back

i heart blazers.

had a 87 s-10 2d 2wd with the 2.8l on 228k.

ran well enough to get around. very easy to work on like said before. cheap too.

now the 2nd gens 95+ are a lil more *****y, as parts are more expencive.

but they are very nice suv's.... i want another. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
