Whats going on fellas?

Anyway, I just managed to cop myself a used (supposedly just a wall model used for show and testing) 12" 2005 Dual 4 ohm CVR off of eBay from a power seller with 98.9% feedback. Lets hope this thing actually works like its supposed to.

Alright, so this will now give me 2 12" Dual 4 ohm CVRS. This means I can wire them down to 1 ohm and power them off of my BX1000D.

Back to the real point of this thread. Obviously, since I have gotten another sub, I will be needing to build a new box.

Now, I am trying to make this setup loud. NOTE: This will not be a competition setup, just a purely daily driver! My current single CVR is in a 2.0 cf (after displacement) tuned to 34 hz. It sounds good and gets loud, but I dont have the money to do testing with other boxes, so I don't know if that is the best.

Would my best bet just be to build a new single chamber box with one port for both subs and tune it to 34 hz again? Should I tune to something different? Think my box should be bigger (more than 2 net cubes for each sub)?

Just wondering what you guys think would be best to get these things musically loud...

Oh yeah, if it matters at all, I listen to all rap and hip hop.

make a 4 cubed box and put both subs in a single chamber //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif doesnt kicker recommend like 37hz for street bass or something? but 34hz should be good.

I emailed Kicker Technical Support and got this response:

Keep each woofer in a separate chamber. Build each chamber to 2.82 cubicfeet with a port opening for each chamber that is 33 square inches and

each port should be 16.5" long. After you have the port and woofer in

the box you will have about 2.5 cubic feet of airspace.

I guess I should go by what they say, since it is their product, but I have a few questions...

Im too lazy to actually calculate it out, but I think the way they describe it, that it comes out around 40 hz tuning. Isnt that kinda high?

Also, would having 2 chambers like they suggest vs. 1 chamber make any REAL difference?

And I assume that there will be a sound difference between 2.5 net and 2.0 net right?

Ok... so i may be retarded...

Im doing some calculations, and I dont think im gonna be able to fit that big of a box in my trunk...

So I think I am going to go for 2 cubes each sub, tuning to 35 hz...

Anyway, think its possible to get 2 12"s onto 25.5" of front baffle????

I just looked at the kicker website and it says the outer diameter for the subs are 12.5 inches... so it shoudl work right?

Any problem with 2 subs directly next to each other?

thats wide enough if your going to use aero ports and fire in a different direction, you can also do sub up and port on the side. Another option is to seal off the trunk and fire in, it all depends on how much work you are looking to do but i would say that if you have to use 25.5" max then aero ports are going to be your best friend in this build. How much depth and height do you have to work with?

I meant that after the port, I would be left with 25.5" of baffle... If I can fit 2 12" on 25.5 then im fine...
