You could have atleast posted updated pictures of the car.

You called me an idiot and told me i haven't driven any cars. Only car I have mentioned that i haven't driven is a miata and I have riden in one... and a wrx will outperform a miata gauranteed on any track or any drag race. Your rwd miata will never be able to compete with an awd car whose daddy was built for one thing... going around the track as fast as possible and still being economicly friendly and practical for the everyday driver.

Never called you an idiot.

You admitted to not driving the miata, I made no claim about that.

Just stated that you're comparing apples and oranges.

Not to mention that the OP's budget isn't even in the 20K range, but in the 10-12K range.

actually he has a cd for 14k and a car he can trade in for 3k giving him around 17k, he just doesn't know if his parents will let him spend all of his CD on a car. and you act as if you could buy a used miata for 12k but wrx's don't exist? shocking....

Older gen miata's can be had for CHEAP.

And if you check all of the OP's posts... he stated that his parents DID NOT want him to use the entire thing on the car.

Just give it a rest.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif

and a miata is still unpractical as a dd... and he said his parents didn't want him to use it til he was out of school, not that he couldn't use it so maybe you should give up.... plus i didn't reccommend a 20k car, i was just comparing cars in similar price range to a new miata... which a new wrx happens to fall into.

Well I guess we got a little off topic here, though I will say that the god awfull large rims always were dumb, gold plating anything other then for electronics is dumb, and big tires serve a purpose, unlike the above mentioned crap.

Now back to this guys question... yea subie would be a first choice for that price range w/ fuel economy

A diesel anything would be the real 1st choice but might be hard to find.

A honda or toyota product would be second choice.

Get a older subie legacy or outback, the wrx models are hard to find in a un-molested form, AWSOME cars, flat 4 engines AWD (or if you get a old one shift on the fly fwd -> 4wd), some people have actually transplanted those engines into aircraft, as they are built in the same config. as a/c engines.

you should be able to get something really nice for under 10k if you look around and grind a little bit.

I haven't driven either, but I highly doubt that a WRX would beat a Miata around a twisty track.

ALthough, I do agree that the WRX would be a better choice for a daily driver. Actually on of the choices I'm considering
