Time Alignment vs. Phase Shift

I have ALOT left to do with my install ... The truck could use ALOT more TLC also ... But anyhow Its going to World Finals ready or not !!!
I thought you Linear Power/Blues Car Audio guys prided yourselves on the fact that you didn't need additional processing to achieve 2 seat SQ championship success? Then again, maybe one of your "friends" who made that comment endlessly on DIYMA wrongfully ruined my opinion of ALL Linear Power/Blues guys...

I'm not on DIYMA sir. Was not my comment.

I never said anything about installing any type of equipment that has to do with additional processing to my truck.

Over half of our vehicles, components are in Stock speaker locations.

I'm just trying to learn more about this part of car audio (main reason for being on this forum). I'm a cableguy, not a car audio installer.

Broadband / Electronics / Communications is also a hobby of mine, so I'm learning more as I go.

The work left on my truck is trim pannels, carpet, vehicle maintenance / upgrades, WOW factor stuff. Never ending project.

The member touting the "minimal processing" spill even showed photos of your install as an example. Of course, I do find it ironic that he used photos of your install since the PA2 and XO3 are processors.

The only thing I would pick on you for is using all those batteries for TWO amplifiers.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif Long story short, I used to run Linear Power amplifiers, and I know for a fact that you need most of those batteries OR a set of jumper cables if you decide to listen to your system with the vehicle off.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

X03 is a crossover, not a processor. I already stated that the PA2 is set flat.

The PA2 and X03 does nothing for time alignment and/or phase shifting. Do you need factory specs for these ??

And I have 5 batteries, and never needed a boost since the system has been built. I NEVER charge the batteries.

On weekend shows, I jam this thing all weekend with the motor on or off ... doesn't matter.

Meet me at World Finals this year, I will prove it to you (no battery charging or astron all weekend) ...

Yah, I'm not sure how a setup with a ton of phase shifts would actually sound, just that the sound would have highest amplitude at all frequencies when it reaches your ear. I do know for sure that phase shifting on subs can work really nicely, if you can actually shift the phase rather than just reverse the polarity like most amps have with the 0 or 180 degree phase. TA would be pretty nice but I don't wanna spend a fortune to get it. Weak.

Music is dynamic. Why would you want all frequencies to reach your ears at the same amplitude? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Crossovers are processors, eqs are as well. I would also truely wonder if flat were flat especially if it were analog
I'm still learning guys, If this is true, then ok ... But my set up has no Time Alignment and/or Phase Shift capabilities. If they do, can you show me where ???

A processor is anything that can change the sound and or shape it, change the crossover points or type of crossover you will indeed change the sound. There are also phase shifts inherent with the crossover slopes used.

ok ... See there ... you learn something new every day. thanks bro !!!
