Threatcon 4 12" Pre-sale!!

No worries, I Honestly don't Mind answering any questions that you may have. We take pride in our product and I feel that it shows in the overall finished products.

I'm just curious why you went with a less efficient 4" coil rather than a 3" coil for this particular sub. I've seen 3" coil subs with a 2500+ RMS rating and they can take much more power than they're rated for. And is this more of a SPL or daily sub?

I tried a 3" coil and this 4" coil in prototypes. You are correct it was not as efficient in a few ways But after comparison testing the 4" coil works extremely well in this woofer and proved to be the Most reliable under extreme loads. This finished prototype was chosen unanimously as the design of choice. With that being said the TS parameters back everything else up and it Is the right choice for this woofer.

Id love to see some of these 2500+ watt 3in coil subs truly run on 2500 watts for long time and see how many last. I'm not talking 2500watt amp wired to 1ohm rising to 3ohm only putting out 800 watts for 30 seconds. A 4 in coil should handle 1600watts true clamped power for a straight 30+ mins 3in 1200watts. Cooling can increase this a couple hundred watts tops.

I think any 4" coil should be able to take 1600 watts but completely agree with your imp. Rise statement

This post is for our new Threatcon-4 12" which we state is 1200 watts RMS. This woofer will take the RMS all day and at $200 delivered pre sale price is by far a Great buy. Look at the components being used and read the ts specs. You can see it is the real deal and will be a leader in The 1200 watt category. If you want to discuss a 2000+ watt sub look for details on our Threatcon-6 subs that will be released around December. This woofer will be also have a 4" coil (But different Coil than the threatcon-4 of Course) and this one will be designed to handle extreme heat. We are designing the Threatcon-6 sub to have a 2000 watt RMS rating and should retail in mid $350 range.

Sounds like a winner! Threatcon 4 for me for now!!!

Hello,I am new to this so go easy on me lol But I see these need to be in a sealed box with 1 cf of air space , What would happen if i put them in a box with only .95 of air space ? Or should I be looking for smaller subs ? I poster this already one and nobody answered ? is that because its a dumb question ? sorry but I dont know much about this stuff yet. And a sufficant amp size suggestion would be a great help also

Thanks

Yea these are good amps man, kicker is mostly frowned upon on this site but as far as their amps go they aren't that bad at all.

polyfill is used in sealed sub boxes to make the sub "think" it's in a larger enclosure, as far as the amps, if you plan to run one of these get the 1500 and a dual 4 ohm sub, if you plan to run 2 get 2 dual 2 ohm subs. from what I've heard (no personal experience) they are decent amps, if you get them at a decent price. if you are paying retail for them better can be had for the price.
