Thoughts on 7"/8" mids...

If you...

- had 120Wx2 @ 4 ohms

- used sealed doorpods

- listened to rock, jazz, orchestral, with a focus on a confident lower end without compromising upper midrange

- needed to stay under $100 per driver

What would you choose?

I have space for 8's but I'm not entirely sure I want to go that route...

Those two are looking tempting. Would I regret going with a 7" instead of the larger driver?

Kicker SS midbass 6.5's or 8" would be a nice option for you to look at.

you would not regret going with a 7" over and 8" as long as the 7 is built to handle the power and the lower freqs. I have 7" and have not regretted it. The Seas would be a good choice. I here the scan's play very well when sealed. I have never heard them.

Stick with a 7" if you're going 2way.

Honestly I don't think you will be able to get enough air space in a sealed door pod for an 8. You will probably have to go IB. Even with a 7 for that matter.
