Thors 09 Build Log

what are you running for an alt? and did you build your box in the trunk, or slide it int ehre?
Alt is from http://www.highoutputalternator.com 220amp 325shipped direct bolton for Pontiac GP Internally regulated pretty much stays at 15.3v+

oh and just an fyi....I think...... you should do a 6th order ;] or an 8th. build outside the box //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Started to test on that idea yesterday. I'll post pics. First test was heavier to the ear but would only hit a 148.8.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I've been impressed on what your getting for just your 2 10's in a trunk. Good luck on your new build! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

This is a port plug I had hear at the house. it's actually to tall for my enclosure area but it fit perfect in the groove at the b pillar.I tested from 40- 52 hz. and tried many settings in the headunit and could only do a 148.8 but it did create a deeper tone for music.I'm gonna expand on that and try a piece that I can push closer to the box and see if that will change freq. etc....

As soon as I pulled it off 149.5

It's all about being creative and not be afraid to try it! LOL

Thanks! It's alot of work //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Your setup is bad ass man.Loud as hell for two tens in a trunk and not even in a small car either.
Working on getting louder everyday!

Thanks for the kind words Gents!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Sure didnt. At the time I got this one there were very few choices for me. I can say that Phil is a grerat guy to deal with and I have had no issues with it at all.

nice idea with the bp.

I actually wouldn't try anything else without doing the proper calculations which I have failed to do every time correctly lmao. you will blow a coil, rather easily. Just saying man.

nice though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

alt wise... mechman or ohiogen all the way. iraggi=bs along with a few others. they just won't put out what they say and they loose power output or fail with anything larger than 4awg on the post or excessive use.

also.. mechman and ohiogen usually come with very accurate birthsheets explaining everything from hotamps, total power at different temps and rpms etc. and quite a few other things.

nice stuff and very reliable.

one thing... if you have 1/0 from your alt post to the bat take it off and get the shortest 4awg you can put in it's place. I went from 15.2v steady to 15.6v steady. Unless your post is huge like on some alts over 300amps then the 1/0 is probably ruining your alt slowly.

A teammate also told me to be careful weh playing with bandpass ideas. Seems to be good advice. LOL* I'm gonna measure the area I have to work with and try a 6th order of sorts( meaning not a true one).* We'll see how it pans out.* lMAO
