My garage as always on shitty days and today was no exception. Rained off and on all day friggin long!

The amp sits on its side behind the box I cut 8 ports lengths. That just ***** azz having to tear down and rewire and move that beast! I sat it in the back seat while removing the back cover on the box.

You can see the pre measured cuts for testing. You can bet I went through them all. Maybe a couple more even.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Final port length. Had to pull the box half way out to get screws in the bottom of the port. I don't feel I got the best test with this port length cause the port and the back wall would not stay sealed:crazy: Just so happens to be within 1inch of original port length.

hey thor do you have any pics of underneath the rearfill wondering how you sealed them off i was thinking of a way to make an enclosure for them think they will sound better and no air leaks

hate the rain when working outside.
Everyday is a rainy day for me!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Page 2 or 3 theres pics of the rear deck. all the Dynamatt you see on top is doubled on the bottom with foam filling any hollow struts.

basement is a spitting image to mine
Do ya like my cinder block table!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif I spent all day on my friggin knees:mad://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

You'll notice that I marked the outside edge of the back. I try not to get any resin along the edge it tends to crack when drilled through and it doesnt allow for a nice seal to the rest of the box. It also helps me to see where to drill and put new screws.

Ended yesterday with 149ish with a make shift seal job and without the box sealed.

I'm pretty much beat! It's been pissing rain non stop so work has been slowed. I did get the box sealed, rewired everything and made a make shift stand to hold both 5k's. As soon as I get some more wood I'm gonna move the silver amp to the left side and have both 5k's standing one in front of the other.

I used the original back and marked where the screws were on it so I wouldnt tap into a stripped hole. Drilled all new holes and sunk 3 screws into the 45. Tomorrow I'll crawl in the box and resin along all cracks just to make sure its sealed.

You can see the marks I made.

All tests yesterday were with the amp settings and HU settings the same. I know that the amp will react different with a difference in impedance rise caused by a diff. box and tuning. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to do some amp tweaking and gain some more output.

Had a scrap piece of wood so I did a mock up of what I was considering for sealing the cabin.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Behind the sides will be stuffed with foam. I made the trim piece that goes along the top of box face that will allow me to put foam around all edges.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Got lots to do before leaving for Pittburgh Sunday.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

Got it pretty well sealed up with Ducttape. Tomorrow I'll throw it on the meter and maybe take a vid or 2.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Sealing the cabin made a huge difference! Even if it is only tape holding the boards in place.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

If it pans out I'll make some fiberglass panels helping to seal and smooth at the same time.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
