PURDUE!!!!
my friend just bought a CHEAP wiring kit from Wal-Mart and i was looking at the little paper that came with it (which by the way was completely in spanish and no english) and was looking at the wiring diagram and this is what it told me to do: It said i should use 4 gauge wire from the battery to the fuse, and then 4 gauge out of the fuse. but then is said that halfway to the amp from the fuse i should convert it to 8 gauge. My friend's amp takes 4 gauge wire, so what would be the point of this? It just confused me...

I know exactly what your talking about....the frikin' instructions are in espanol which is definately pointless. Also I really dont know if the wiring in the wal-mart kits any good because the wire isnt copper its aluminum or something but i really dont know if that makes a difference.

You all know that eventually spanish will be the first language in the most civilized countries right?

well i was actually impressed w/ the walmart kit....and its copper not alunimum as said earlier......the kit is designed for an amp that accepts 8g wire via the distribution block....however u dont necessarily have to use the distro block and 8ga wire....jus wire to the amp.....then i'd cut the excess off and use it as the ground....enjoy

The Wal-Mart Kit (Scoshe) impressed me as well. I got the same kit that Mike did. The wire was nice, all high strand count cable, and oxygen-free copper speaker wire. The fuse block and distro were nice too. Good kit, especially for Wal-Mart. I was pretty suprised they carried a decent wiring kit. I was impressed. Their speaker wire they sell (Scoshe as well), is very good, and i use a great deal of it in my installs I do for people.

I got that same kit the 4 gauge with the splitter. Very decent I can't even notice a difference between RF and schoshe there the same to me. Anyway I just split the 4 gauge down to 2 8gauges and power 2 amps. Nice and cheap.

yes i was worried about buying the kit because i had never heard of the brand before and the box said absolutly nothing about what was in it, but we went ahead and bought it anyways. After wrestling with the box for 10 minutes (didn't have anything sharp to open it with) i found out that it was very nice. It had alot of nice components and i was very impressed, especially considering that it was only 25 dollars. I am going to install it tuesday so i will see how well it does then!
