This country was built on the primary factor of being able to have your own opinion and belief so the entire point of this thread is pathetic.

Not saying I believe that 10,000 year line, but if you could prove positive that it did NOT happen that way it would put the whole thing to rest.

Burden of proof is on the claims maker. It's not anyone's job to disprove something in order to call it false, when there's no reason to refer to it as a truth in the first place.

Oh boy.. I love complex real talk. I find that ridiculous. God is a tough subject, I believe in a higher world, but not him as a human, as a force.. We evolved and got something right, something went profundaly better than before. I also believe in other life, other dimensia and other more complex living forms. I believe we are on the younger side of knowledge while other worlds may be way beyond us, an how we define life is ignorant.. Requiring carbon oxygen etc,, who is to say life elsewhere developed somehow else. I also believe out entire universe as we know is a mere speck on the mural of the true boundaries of existence..

Yes you are right about schools being able to teach any and all science, but in the same note should also be able to teach religion at the same time and not just christianity.

Separation of church and state makes this a pretty easy solution.

My high school teaches a world religion class, It teaches about every religion fairly. Just shows what everyone believes in. No one has complained yet.

That's not how this works. I don't know why you're getting to buttmad about this. I don't have to prove anything, and I never tried to say anything was fact.

I've been trying very hard not to argue with you about your deluded views on much of car audio, and the idea of "proving" things "with quotations" around every "other word", but it's becoming almost unbearable.

A few months ago a guy at a Uni open day forced into my hands a small bible. I said "cheers man", and he seemed pretty stoked, I think it was the first one he'd managed to give away. I'm just playing devil's advocate here. If 43% people are stupid, as you say, you should be able to either prove them wrong or prove your version is right.

I am able to prove them wrong, but I don't really feel like explaining to you what proof there is. It's not my fault that you're uneducated; it's not my duty to educate you. If you're interested, start by Googling fossilization. Then radioactive decay and dating techniques, maybe a bit of physics? I don't know where you're confused.

But like I said, I'm not going to take the time to talk you through this. Most of science in itself discredits creationism, unless you start arguing semantics -- at which point, there's no point to go on.

I understand what you're trying to do, but I'm not interested. The simple fact is that Earth and the universe has been around for longer than 10,000 years. We observe on a regular basis that our galaxy is moving further away from other galaxies, at a very high speed, and that everything is moving apart. That is where the "big bang" theory came from, and that is how scientists estimate the age of the universe.
