allright, dead-eye ****..would you have been more receiving of Christianity if Jesus, the son of God were portrayed as a black man? I am just tossing this out there, because I can definately see where this would be a major issue if I were a black man, instead of a white man....I have no control over that and this one statement is probably the primary basis of a majority of the black/white hatred i have witnessed all my life. Yea, I agree, this country is headed straight for hell in a handbasket if We The People do not get a grip real quick-like.
What? Where did this come from? My opinions on Christianity have nothing to do with Jesus Christ. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Oh, and Jesus wasn't white. You're retarded if you think he was.

Separation of church and state, which is in the constitution, is pretty clear about this.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

I dont' see how a moment of silence/optional prayer in school is state establishing a religion. Moreso I see it as specifically prohibiting the free excercise thereof to not allow students to pray. Supreme court has been packed with communists/stateists for ages now. In context I understand that in the days the constitution was written the bible was probably the only book most people had and I'd wager most students were tought straight out of it in public schools.

Of couse Jesus was black. He called everyone "brother" and couldn't get a fair trial.

I do not believe there should be a class devoted to any one religion, no...I can teach that here at the house. But as far as being allowed to pray in class, definately. whether it is silent prayer moment, or full out class participation for a couple of minutes each day..I do not see why a teacher cannot discuss this with a class and allow each student to choose to participate those few moments...or not.
and why bring race issues into this subject??....but no, we had a few blacks in class
Lol so would it be ok for me to drink the blood of small innocent babies and chant satanism while you prayed in a classroom? Should we take a vote for class participation?

TL/DR --- CLIFFS please
Pull one out of the Kevin handbook.

Im Christian, which makes me superior to everyone else especially gays, anyone of another religion, or non believers. I think everyone who doesn't agree with me should go to hell and I will pray for your soul because I'm better than you. I also believe your rights as a U.S. citizen should be catered to what I believe because the bible supersedes the Constitution.

i dont think anyone here is saying that a child shouldnt have the option to pray on their own in school... even i completely agree that it is their right. What we have a major problem with, is religion being taught in PUBLIC schools that are funded with our tax dollars (and yes, this could even be the entire class saying the lords prayer every morning)... this is what we are talking about. I would never try to take away someone else's right to their own beliefs... the only thing that is being stated here, is not to throw them onto other people... and dont use them as a blanket argument, to have others' rights taken away.

@quackhead... you continue to show your ignorance and simple mind here

I can say those words without conviction based on casual observation of our Federal Government, who allows those words to be printed on the dollar bill, yet refused to allow my child to recite the Lords prayer at her school.

Holy double post Batman...and that's why my kids go to private Catholic schools.

I gave up on public schools back when Jimmy Carter introduced the Dept. of Education and handed over local control of public schools to the Federal Gov't and the teachers unions.

.. that statement was not one of hate or temptation...just careful observation ...perhaps another product of my surroundings.

I Know he was not European. The Black/White thang was mentioned earlier, and it was suggested the use of Prayer in school was due to a lack of Blacks...which was untrue, due to about a 50% classroom mix in the particular public school in question.
