This country blows.

you were reaching bro... BIG difference between the two posts...
and this is a huge issue in today's world... it isnt just the religious zealots, but just ignorant people in general, who are making this country go down the sh!tter, because they are too simple minded to realize what is really going on in this country
Ok, but "to big to fail" and goverment handouts are a big issue? Socialistic healthcare? Hell, there have been 1 instances in the last year that the military pay was placed on hold and almost a second. There are much larger thing to worry about than ones religion

you're saying the same thing i am bro, lol... what i'm saying is that religious based issues are used SO much in todays politics, to tip toe around the actual issues, and a large majority of ignorant americans just eat it up

I did not infer that. I misspoke earlier when I stated I found Christ at the age of 32...I was wrong, no my parents never preached or exposed me to that. I went to public schools and every morning before classes started we said the Lord's prayer and pledged Allegiance to this country. Not one day in school passed that this did not happen. I am 42 yrs old and I understand times change...I have a had helpers who stop twice a day, no matter what we are doing and roll out their carpet right on the ground in the mud by the wellhead...some of the most religious people I have been around are actually Muslim.
So is that a yes or no? And saying the Lord's prayer every day in public school? Must have been full of whiteys for that to fly.

i never understood either how people continue to press their beliefs on the rest of us...keep telling us Christians how we are "superior" and we push our beliefs on others....what a load..the whole concept of Christianity is to spread His word, just as Christ himself instructs...if you choose Hell as your eternal resting place, so be it...it is not my decision..it is yours alone....I cannot save your soul, that is up to you to decide...i don't see Christians running around yelling and pointing saying "you will go to Hell if you do not change your ways"....whereas there seems to be many attacks on the Christian values and the Holy Bible as a whole.
i see it happen all the time.

Damn, I was wrong. It wasn't your parents, it was your community. Boy was I off, there. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Oh, and I don't have a child. I was never forced to listen to you morons praying while I was in school, thankfully. If I was in a class while that happened, I would have walked out. In fact, once I started basing my opinions on facts and science rather than what my parents(and my peers, teachers, friends, etc.) told me was right, I refused to pledge my allegiance to the flag in class because of the reference to God. I dressed up as Jesus for fictional character day, and I did a sociology project on big religion as a kind of bacteria feeding off of humanity.

i would really like to know what happened to you as a child that made you feel this way. You stand on your high horse and tell every single religious person ever that they're a closed-minded fool who only parrots what their parents think and doesn't have the stones or brain cells to think for themself, yet every time somebody suggests that an opinion different than yours might be correct you behave in exactly the same way.
It's sad, really.
What the fuck are you talking about? Since when do Creationists and Christian zealots make up all of religion? I thought I said in a few earlier posts that while I find Creationism and Christianity beyond butt-fuckingly stupid, I will not hate anyone solely for that belief. Like mast, I have a problem with actions. Much like the actions I was referring to earlier with Creationists in Texas getting rid of references to evolution because they're deciding it's a religion, when it clearly is not. What was that I said about close-mindedness?

I've also said that I don't have any idea what's beyond the veil that is life and the universe. For any person to assume they know is so much more than stupidity. There's no conceivable way for a single person on Earth to know if there's a God or not. For someone to pick a single God of the thousands "out there", and decide that that God is the real one, and all others who believe in something different are heretics, is the close-mindedness I'm talking about. People like @quackhead and @CAT MAN . Don't tell me your God is right and true. That's a lie. You're lying to yourself. I don't need to be prayed for, and I don't need to hear the good word.

Your God is dead. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

I do not believe there should be a class devoted to any one religion, no...I can teach that here at the house. But as far as being allowed to pray in class, definately. whether it is silent prayer moment, or full out class participation for a couple of minutes each day..I do not see why a teacher cannot discuss this with a class and allow each student to choose to participate those few moments...or not.

and why bring race issues into this subject??....but no, we had a few blacks in class

Separation of church and state, which is in the constitution, is pretty clear about this.

Race issues? It was merely an educated guess in a joking manner, which happened to be correct.

allright, dead-eye ****..would you have been more receiving of Christianity if Jesus, the son of God were portrayed as a black man? I am just tossing this out there, because I can definately see where this would be a major issue if I were a black man, instead of a white man....I have no control over that and this one statement is probably the primary basis of a majority of the black/white hatred i have witnessed all my life. Yea, I agree, this country is headed straight for hell in a handbasket if We The People do not get a grip real quick-like.

You're totally lost in this argument, aren't you?
