I did not infer that. I misspoke earlier when I stated I found Christ at the age of 32...I was wrong, no my parents never preached or exposed me to that. I went to public schools and every morning before classes started we said the Lord's prayer and pledged Allegiance to this country. Not one day in school passed that this did not happen. I am 42 yrs old and I understand times change...I have a had helpers who stop twice a day, no matter what we are doing and roll out their carpet right on the ground in the mud by the wellhead...some of the most religious people I have been around are actually Muslim.
Da
mn, I was wrong. It wasn't your parents, it was your community. Boy was I off, there. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
Oh, and I don't have a child. I was never forced to listen to you morons praying while I was in school, thankfully. If I was in a class while that happened, I would have walked out. In fact, once I started basing my opinions on facts and science rather than what my parents(and my peers, teachers, friends, etc.) told me was right, I refused to pledge my allegiance to the flag in class because of the reference to God. I dressed up as Jesus for fictional character day, and I did a sociology project on big religion as a kind of bacteria feeding off of humanity.
i would really like to know what happened to you as a child that made you feel this way. You stand on your high horse and tell every single religious person ever that they're a closed-minded fool who only parrots what their parents think and doesn't have the stones or brain cells to think for themself, yet every time somebody suggests that an opinion different than yours might be correct you behave in exactly the same way.
It's sad, really.
What the f
uck are you talking about? Since when do Creationists and Christian zealots make up all of religion? I thought I said in a few earlier posts that while I find Creationism and Christianity beyond butt-fuckingly stupid, I will not hate anyone solely for that belief. Like mast, I have a problem with actions. Much like the actions I was referring to earlier with Creationists in Texas getting rid of references to evolution because they're deciding it's a religion, when it clearly is not. What was that I said about close-mindedness?
I've also said that I don't have any idea what's beyond the veil that is life and the universe. For any person to assume they know is so much more than stupidity. There's no conceivable way for a single person on Earth to know if there's a God or not. For someone to pick a single God of the thousands "out there", and decide that
that God is the real one, and all others who believe in something different are heretics, is the close-mindedness I'm talking about. People like @
quackhead and @
CAT MAN . Don't tell me your God is right and true. That's a lie. You're lying to yourself. I don't need to be prayed for, and I don't need to hear the good word.
Your God is dead. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
