Hey all. I am thinking about installing my first amp and I am wondering if there is any place that gives you the step by step process on how to do it? It would be just 1 amp connecting to 1 sub. Easy stuff I know. Although, unless I am missing something doesn't just the initial wiring just consist of connecting the RCA's to the headunit(aftermarket of course) then hooking up the power and ground? Is that all or is there more I should know?

dont forget the remote wire, inline fuse, and a clean ground. make sure the connections are clean. no strands from the negative should be hanging out that could eventually touch the positive. should be real simple.

oh ya forgot about the remote turn on....that just connects to the power source correct? or no?
Back of the HU or tap into the HUs remote turn on (Blue or red)
Basically it turns the amp on when you turn the key. Way to test it is to get a voltage meter or a 12 volt light bulb, ground it, then test the wire you think is the remote. If it turns off when you take the key out, and turns on when you put it on ACC or On, thats the one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

alright thanks guys
Biggest thing to remember when doing your first amp install.

USE A FUSE AND MAKE SURE IT IS THE CORRECT SIZE!!!

And place it close to the battery. The farther away it is, the more oppurtunity there is for something bad to happen.

One quick question...How big of a fuse do I need? Is that dependent on the size of my amp or something?
