Phoenix Gold Xenon 200.4 vibrating?

I'll show you how they are mounted when photobucket gets done loading //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'm currently working on it this morning as we speak //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Sigh.... yes.

I had to to retain ANY form of room in the trunk. By placing them between the strut towers in the 'back' of the trunk (closest to front of car fyi) I retain a decent amount of room. I had this kind of setup with a previous amp, but because it was much smaller, I did not have to Diagnol them. The new amp (X200.4 on the top side) is roughly 7" LONGER (or wider, whatever you choose) than the previous speaker amp, forcing me to do this particular setup if I was to retain the original trunk space.

The picture is dark, but the culprit may be that because I had an extra....oh, I'd say .25" to work with, the amp is touching the speaker box, as well as the side of the struttower. Although the amp is firmly screwed down to the board, it might be getting vibrations from the box that I tried to avoid with the lip of Silicone adhesive between the board and the amps.

Ohh. and I cleaned up the wires much better, so it doesn't look as horrendous.

you could have also mounted the amplifiers to the back seat as well or run a wider box and housed the amp rite to the box. I have seen numerous installs with amps on the box and they seem to be fine... I personally would never and will never mount my amp on the box, personal reasons, i would make a dedicated amp rack or diff mounting area completley

The box was made 6 months ago specifically to fit that corner. I had to work the amps around it. The amps don't warm up much (45 minute test) and I found the vibration culprit.

The rack works fine, just because it isn't normal or show quality, doesn't make it ineffective or detrimental to the amps or sound in any way.

****. Ya know when the amp is upside down like that the it doesn't dissipate heat very well......I think I remember another thread you started about an amp rack(i remember the box that has a round side). I told you the 200.4 wouldn't fit in that space lol. Is that a 400.1 that's upside down?
