thining about getting a dirt bike (motor cycle)

if you prefer workign on your bike more than riding go 2 stroke. but if you want a bike that needs little to no maintence go 4 stroke. how many cc's is going to depend on what you plan on doing. with a 450 at your size you will be able to fly around like a mad man like everyone else. but if you are new and what something to just cruise on and occasional beat on i would got with 250. dont get me wrong 2 strokes are powerhouses but you have to constantly be hammering on the gas and maintaining high RPM's.

not all people work on their bike more than they ride it!!!!

jus once u get your correct settings u need or like then just leave it n go riding!

only thing is mixing your gas.. thats bout it.. which seriously is 0 problems..

btw in that 250f up there that cat is very sneaky i barely saw it...

lol

to everyone else, i really appreciate the advice. i have no REAL purpose for the bike. it wont be to get me around the city, or commuting to work. im pretty much just trying to get a bike that i can **** around with and a) not worry about it taking a shit too bad on me b) not costing too much and c) when it does break, having it cheap to fix. btw, there will be no real jumping for me at first, that is something i think should be left for the much more experienced riders at this time.

i dont know much about bikes and this one would be my first, but like i said, my main goal is for the bike to be cheap and still be able to push my mongloid *** around so i can just **** around on it and not worry about my "investment"

i hope your joking

k here is what i think if you start off riding a dirtbike for the first time in sand your going to get real frustrated. trust me ive been riding for around 8 years or so and im just getting used to riding in harsh conditions. i think you should look in to a ktm 300exc it is a 2 stroke and it has e-start if you get the new one(i think) and plus a 300 will have plenty of power or you might consider a 250exc. but i have a ktm200mxc and it pulls me around just fine and i weigh 170 so you should be fine on a 250 or 300. and a good thing about ktm's is that you can beat the living hell out of them and they wont break. they are probably the toughest trail bikes on the market right now and really reliable. just a thought

hmm, my buddy told me that i should start off in the sand since it would be easier to ride since the sand would let the rear tire spin some and keep the bike from wheeling up and causing me to go over (he has a 2 stroke, which is why he suggested going to the desert).

but when i think twice about it, your sentence there does make quite a bit of sense as well.
