Well,
We all know there is one thread which has been stickied that is dedicated only to 2008 election topics, and that the moders in this place have made it clear that if "you make a new thread, you take a vacation."
The thing is, before this thread was made, there were MANY treads covering many different topics concerning this upcoming election and different discussions happening in each thread.
The way all election relation related topics were consolidated was into ONE SINGLE THREAD, which has now turned into almost 5000 posts of gibirish with no direction.
I have to ask WHY, if all the 08 election threads were to be put into one place, "WHY were they all combined into a stepped sticky??????
In other areas of this forum, such as the amplifier area there is a sticky:
General Amplifier Information - Consolidated List of Amp Discussion Stickies & More
Birthsheet/Bench Test Thread
Amplifier Setting Tutorial
Gain Setting Tutorial
Test Tones
Amp Repair Sites/Places
Amplifier Classes
The WHY of Gain Setting;
OK... as amplifier issues are just as important in the amplifier specific section of this forum, why couldn't the different threads regarding this important election be split the way they were in the fore mentioned example??
It seems as if it is ok for some members to make thread after thread about the same shit again and again, to the point that it is exhausting to filter through it. But the message in this case is that "this kind of talk belongs in this big dump and if you challenge this ideology you get booted".
since a presidential election only comes every four years and effects everyone here, even the kids that can not yet vote, there would be a bit more consideration regarding the topic.
Is it possible that the mods in the forum are just too lazy or disinterested in having to deal with the various issues and inevitable disasters that would happen in an area with so much talk about different topics??
Granted, there will always be people that get excited and flame on and on in a mob like way to pressure their point. Well so is the dynamic of this time and this process.
I can understand not wanting to deal with 4 or 5 different areas of debate, dissent and associated drama, but seriously.... This will only be a few more weeks.
The discussion should be kept in a consolidated area so it does not interfere with other non political interests (such as, "hey ,what do you think this song means") but for gods sake let the discussion within that area be able to diversify past the generic mess of $hit that it has become.
Allow those that have different topics, concerns and ideas that they want to discuss do so in interest specific threads, within the 2008 election area that has already been dedicated to the topic.
I propose that the sticky now titled
"All '08 Election talk here...make a new thread take a vacation"
be regrouped in the way that the sticky in the amplifier section of this site is with appropriate subsections regarding the topic available for the many different concerns. (it will be over soon.......)
