so has anyone tested these yet and like them?

Tried one out in my van off 100 RMS in a 1 cube sealed box a while ago. Not much, but i imagine 4 of them wouldnt be too bad. Im about to go make a ported box for two of them and try that.

The SQ wasnt bad, and it shook the mirror. IMO not bad for 5 dollars.

There is one problem with one of the drivers. It was the first one i took out, so therefore it was my test woofer. I test it out free air, only bottoming it out a couple times. Unhook it and bring it down to the garage for fitting. It then sits down there for a night and when i finish a box and try it out i have lots of rubbing. Its not bottoming out its just got alignment issues im assuming. Anyway i will let you guys no how the ported box sounds when its finished.

Maybe bottoming out the coil loosened one of the loops ?

The ported box is done. 2 cubes at 35 htz for two drivers. Tried it out real quick in the garage and it is a little loud and it sounds nice but the box has a couple leaks and needsto dry completely before i rule anything major.

Why would you run subs in HT in a sealed enclosure? I'd figure a ported box tuned LOW would be the best. After all, wouldn't you be crossing over the subs very low in a HT application? Your regular woofers should be more than enough for the midbass? I can't see a sealed box being able to have the output for the explosions and whatnot in movies. I thought the whole sealed subwoofer thing was for cars only.

Of course I'm probably wrong .

The box was real simple. 2 cubes with 2 2" PVC ports 5.5" long. Ill seal it up when i get home and test it out then.

Do you get any port noise with the two 2" ports? I had a setup using two of the ED 6.5 subs in one cube with dual 2" ports and I got some port noise. I would imagine two 8's would have even more.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I was thinking of goining vented with my 4 subs as I have no idea how to do aero ports of any kind.

but i dont have a ton of room in my car because I would like some space left over. It will be 3 cubes tuned to 33hz

well i got my 20 eds in today....a case of 2's and a case of 4's ...In a seperate box ed shipped two 2ohms and two 4 ohms...I'll play with those 4...the other 16 will get locked away in storage....for a while anyway...lol

Oh, and I'm about to start some box plans for a ported dual 8's HT box. But this supply chain project for school is killing me so there wont be any fun till I'm done with that.
