It seemed like a ton of you all got in on the clean out deal from Elemental Designs...I know I did //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

So I'm curious; what all of you are going to do with yours? I know some of you bought quite a few and I want to see what you crazy kids come up with //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Someone in the other thread said the specs couldn't be found on their web page so I'll post them up here for easy access.

I bought 2 single 2 ohm subs and think I'm going to build my dad a HT sub for his house. He has a decent frontstage with two nice bookshelf speakers but it's got no bottom end so I figured I could build him a sub for his Christmas present.

I'm going to build a sealed dual 8" sub setup for him and I'm thinking about running them with a Bash 300w plate amp from partsexpress. But I have to say I'm curious about the box volume for them. A sealed volume of .75-1 cu ft. seems VERY large for a single 8in sub doesn't it? What size should I make the box for two of these 8's?

Bash 300W might be too much for these. They only have a one inch voice coil so be careful with the amp, although it should be less of a problem since you're going sealed. I think the large box size isn't an overstatement by eD. I would input the specs into WinISD and build the sealed box to a Qtc of .707.

Ah hell I was bored so I did it for you:

2.416 cu ft. should do it.

I was thinking that plate amp might be a little much but I can't seem to find anything else that would work well. I need an LFE input and a lowpass crossover. I'm going to run these both in series for a 4 ohm load.

Do you really think running 150 to these would be too much? I was thinking if I was conservative with the gain they would be ok. Is there something else around the same price that would work better?

Well overhead is never a bad idea, just set the gains to 100w per and you should be okay. I was about to say get the Dayton 240w but the Bash is on sale for the same price, so you might as well get it instead.

Does the dayton have an LFE input? I tried to look at the back of the amp in one of their pics and it didn't look like it had it.

i was gonna pick up a few, i really had no use for them and they only had s2's left //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

IIRC they ran out of S4s at 7:48, shortly after we placed our order, pry got some of the last ones. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Thanks to CA.com or i never would have heard of them. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
