I just got one and am debating which way to go, sealed or ported, I will be running it off a diamond D5 1200.1 for now switching to a Rainbow iPaul DM2000, in a couple weeks. I would love to have your input. As you can see in my sig, I am leaning more towards SQ or SQL it is going in a '04 Ram quad cab, I am planning on putting it between the front seats. All thoughts are welcome

Try 1.25-1.75 sealed. Should be great for SQ. Personally, I would go for the larger sealed box for SQ but the 1.25 would be the smallest.

If you can afford it go for it. Its a ugly woof, but its supposed to be VERY good.
I already have it, and to tell you the truth, when you see it in person, well, I think it is dead sexy, but then the parents of an ugly child will swear it is the most beautiful child on earth;)

You obviously have experiance with Cmass and the UL's will 1000 watts get it going well enough? I do have the room for 1.75 sealed so I will try it first.

I like mine with 2500/rms. It will eat up everything I throw at it. I would never go less but I like it loud and 1000/rms may be all "you" need. It would kinda be a shame to have that much woofer and not use it though. The larger sealed box I suggested will get a little lower (what I like) and if you don't like you can take up space inside to adjust box volume. The "perfect sub" review was done in a 1.65 ft box with fiberglass fill. Have you heard these things yet?

Once I get my Ipaul it will be getting 1800-2000w but I only have a D5 1200.1 right now so it will have to do for a couple weeks. I haven't heard them yet, I am very anxious though, I have high expectations on both sides spl and sq. are you suing fill in you enclosure? if so what %. Has anyone tried them ported, if so how is the sq and did the spl increase enough to make the extra space and possible loss of sq worth it?

I am running mine in a LARGE vented enclosure. They are so "nasty" I still can't believe it when I turn them on. Already posted I did a 157.5 db (audio control) with music not a tone, also don't have alt. yet so voltage sucked. You get it dialed in and you will be amazed. I haven't played with them alot, as I am trying to get my front stage dialed in. I also have the (4) SS82 8's in a sealed enclosure so I will not need to run the UL's daily. I like the way they sound in the ported box but they are just too much. You can start venting the enclosure around 1.85-2 cubes. (I have mine in way more than that) I think you would like that also and you could always close the port and take up space to get back to sealed if you like.

I thought about doing one ul12 on a zapco 9.0 and then when I get more money later, add another ul12 on another 9.0
Zap 4kw on 2 ul12's on in the rear deck of my impala = teh ***.
I like your thinking, I am actually thinking of going with 2 also. I went ahead and got the Ipaul so I am going to see if one with the Ipaul is enough, and if the need his me another Ipaul and UL are in the near future.

I wonder why there isn't intrest in these subs here. is it the money?
