Ok here is what i got. i have a chance to win some subs other than my own, i have a guy who wants to battle it out and have a sub deathmatch. my 2 TYPE R 12's vs his two JL 12v2's. same amps, same box size whether it be 2.5 cubes or 4.0 for each sub. now were gonna do this at a local shop that has a TL. same vehicle also the subs will be installed. if his gets louder i give him my subs! if i win i get his! what u guys think this would be a good bet! ive done a 149 with 2 R's but i dont know what the V2's are capable of...oh by the way we'll be using 2 memphis 1000d's for the amps. these will be done in a suburban. i wanna know will the R's take em, or no or close. there is also a dude with some W7's who might wanna go in to but i seem to think that the R's wont hang with them, but if i build a bigger box i think i could get em , but i dont really know. his configuration i think he'll be using the same amps as well. but he has his own pre-fab JL box... let me know what u think

man... i think that would be a pretty close one.. i dont know anythign about SPL contests so obviously i wouldnt know on this one.. but im thinking if power, vehicle, and enclosure are identical, then would it come down to efficiency? if so, i think he has you in efficiency by .9db at 1w/1m .. but i dont think that it would come down to that.. i think itll be more like rolling the dice. if you keep the box the same size as his could you still build yours seperately and use it? cause i think building the box differently, playing with port area, bracing, double baffles, tuning, size, etc might put you in the lead if everything else has to be exactly the same. also, can you move the box around in different positions, or does it have to be the same position as him?

well thats what were gonna do once we get together , i jus know that much of it will be identical for a just cause. yeah boxes will definitly vary thats why i put somewhere between 2.5 and 4 cubes.

on the second part when the subs are metered again is the driver door shut?
