so i heard 2 12" type r's today (new) both recieving 500 watts selaed. Really loud. But would the RE SE be louder?

im thinking about getting 2 12" SE subs that will be getting 600W RMS (dual4, bridging my 1200W @ 1ohm) proboby going to port them. What do you think guys?

should i get the SE's or Type R's? The type R's would be gettin 600W rms a piece daily, think that is too much for them?

You could send more than 600 rms to the Type R's. People have been running 1000+ daily to each Type R.

I won't put him on it. I haven't been side by side w/a hooked up Type R. IF netherland ever brings them down from Denton, I'd actually have a chance to do some comparisons.

I'd a given my SE's more, but couldn't due to my amp. The coils never have gotten warm enough for the 'glue smell'.

When I was looking to originally purchase good subs, after purchasing the Polk GNX124's at CC, my requirement were 12", DVC, cast basket, full dustcap.

The three subs I liked at that time were:

Infinity Perfect 12.1d(vq)

Alpine Type-R

RE SE.

I liked the Infinity for it's variable Q, the type R had a good price point and I could pick it up at a store, and the RE had the right T/S for my application.

I related Xmax to potential SPL as I was limited w/Polk and so I ended up w/SEs.

LOL yes I did... I took out part of my back seat and so the box is sitting halfway in my trunk and halfway in my backseat till I can get someone to run to Lowes so I can build a new box. That box is HUGE isnt it!? Just cant decide if two of the 12 R's would be better. I am also looking to get a little better SQ with rock and alternative music

I was thinking of going something a little louder than my SX. Netherland said he hit 141. I am looking for around 145. I dunno. I am just going to build another box, seal my trunk back up and see if that helps.
