I've heard the Type R takind 1250+rms a peice daily

I would not reccomend that unless you REALLY know what you are doing. He, obviously, does not know a lot about car audio, so I do not think he should try to give his subs that much power.

exactly, i would do what demarco says and get dual 4's and wire at 4 ohms dont risk blowing the subs b/c of an incorrect setting.

We have had VERY good luck with the type-r on my team
My 10" type-r in my regular cab, off two eD nine.1's=148.9 dB's

Buddies 15" type-r in a 4 door blazer off an orion 2500d=148.5

Pair of type-r 12's in a first gen 2 door blazer off a 2500d=149.3

All scores are in the kick, MECA style, on the termlab.

I was thinking about doing an install with them since I can get them for dirt cheap from my store, but everyone has them, so im just going to do an treo install next.

I am building a ported box and was wondering what is the best freq. to tune a single 12 alpine type-r to? Is there an advantage to tune it high?

jus like most subs if you tune any sub high like that youre gonna get a louder sub vs. tuned to say 32 Hz. and box size as well. i have had good experience with em, also spkrman has too. the R shines best in a ported box for SQ around 28-32 Hz and SPL more higher say 38-44Hz... with my experience anyway....hope this helps

so would the 32-37 hz range give you sql or is that no-man's land. I don't know too much about designing boxes, just curious.
