Im sure not many people have heard the xenon sub anyways. To make a long story short, they both sound good. Both have good sound q.

k im most likely going to get a 12" type r...anyone with experience with these..what is better ported or sealed? i really care bout sq but still want it to pound hard when i want it to. also what cu.ft should the box be? on the site for sealed it says .7 to 1.0 cu.ft

ported and anywhere between 1.5 and 2cuft you should be fine

you will lose minimal SQ if you go the ported route and port accordingly.

my ava is an SQ oriented sub and was put in a 2^3 box tuned to 30hz, and it got stupid loud, yet the SQ was still amazing.

as do i. just tune to around 28-33hz and you will be ok.

i listen to everything from trance, oldies, screamo, metal, underground hip hop (has real tight-clean sounding bass), rap, and 'romance'

my box has not made me disapprove of any sounds that it has created yet.

ported and anywhere between 1.5 and 2cuft you should be fine

Hey i see people are giving the Type R some respect, well at least some of you, Thats good to know finally, for those of you who have the NEW R , what kinda numbers have been put up? also been hearing that many like the X better if you have the juice. does anyone think the X is better than the R? i know the X handles more power but other than that is the X that better of a Sub? say if you put say 800 -1000W per coil. Is that sub worth looking into over the R? let me know what you think? its kinda funny but rthere is a guy comparing the X to a w7 at a local shop around here. i thought it was kinda funny, but if you look at power specs, looks pretty close to me....i know installs take a toll on outcome....
