I just ordered all my stuff this week. Spring break starts next Friday, that's when I head home and put it all in. I will post pics after I'm done, but I'm a major noob, so don't expect much.

my 1242D came in about 3 days ago and now its running off my 500/1... sounded very loud off 500 watts... im still thinkin about sellin this amp and buy another amp with around 700-900watts.. any suggestions? thinkin about the nine.1 or the orion 1200d

I finally got my 2 12" Type-R's in today! Anyone have any experience as to what size box, and what tuning will work the best with these subs?

Ive had mine for over a year and im still tryin to tune em, doesnt help that my amp is twice as complicated as the computer on the spaceshuttle, or maybe im just an idiot, could be that to

I finally got everything installed. I will post pics when I can if yall still want them. I am absolutely amazed at how much better these are compared to my old setup.

how do u hook up 2 12" type r's 2 ohm to a hifonics 1500 watt mono amp? can any1 help me?

frenzy, I have the same amp you do. Mine is wired to see a 1 ohm load, but I can also wire it to see a 4 ohm load. Do you have the 4 ohm or 2ohm versions of the Type Rs? Check out my gallery for pics of my new setup. It's my first box, so it's definitely not the greatest, but it's better than a pre fab.

I'm planning to purchase (2) 1242D's and I'm searching around, and I can't find a people using the same amplifier for these subs, I've searched but it all comes up different and basically they state amps that they already have or have in mind, but which amp would be the best to power (2) 1242's? I'm fairly new to car audio, so any help would be appreciated.
