Democrat is a party, liberalism is a school of thought, if you vote democrat, you are democratic, the majority of liberals vote democratic, therefore the majority of liberals are democrat; there, Ive resorted to spelling it out for you. Whats your point anyways, other than failing at proving anything?
I have voted Democrat in local and state elections before because I thought that the Dem candidate was much better suited for the position in question.

Having cast those votes for Democratic candidates in no way makes me a Democrat. That is an incredibly flawed reasoning process you've got happening there, eisenhower //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I'm not defending Adam71's point of view in any way, mind you..I disagree completely with the majority of what he posts, but "if you vote Democrat you are a Democrat" is flatly insane.

MOST of the accusations that Dems were soft on terror were made during the 2004 election campaigns by none other than W himself.
Until Sept of 2001 (for reasons as yet still unbeknownst to me) the activities of organized terror facilitators were not a prime focus of anyone (present or past) holding the presidential chair.

That does not mean, however, that these activities were not known by the majority of the intelligence agencies worldwide and yet still, by and large, nothing was done by the US or any other freedom-loving country anywhere else.

Your against the troops because you make their job difficult by spouting BS like "war for oil" "9/11 was a hoax" and other false crap like that. People who enlist for the army expect war, wtf do you think the army does? If it were a draft I would feel a little more sympathy with what your saying, but its not, and saying that war supporters are only justified in supporting war if they are in the army is complete crap. What does the rest of the world think of "us" ?? Who are you talking about? populations of people in foreign countries uninformed and outside our problems? Do they have any idea what its like being a constant target of terrorism?

Regardless of any foreign action, the Muslims in the middle east hate us for support Israel, why do we need to appeal to them?

It seems all you can think of is "your brainwashed by bill oreilly, war for oil, 9/11 was fake, bush lied people died"
Just another post of BS spewing from the mouth of a clueless moron. Wow, and I thought I was close-minded. You really are running with blinders on. You don't see and don't really want to see the whole picture. You're just looking at what they want you to see, therefore making you think what they want you to think.

I will no longer respond to your posts because you are hopeless. Atleast with Prowler he understands there are 2 sides to an argument and more than 1 way to skin a cat.

You're missing my point. Yes, until 01 it was not a focal point of discussinon. Which is why I said it was used as a "wedge issue" in the '04 election.

I can name you heaps of people that I personally know that enlisted in one branch or another of the armed forces for no such reason.
This thought ever crossed your mind? --->

G.I. Bill = free ride to college

Years of military service = looks good on a resume' when they search for jobs in the civilian sector

You could have posted nothing and had a better argument.

Your not gonna respond because you cant, you're in a situation where fact becomes important, and its time for you to ditch.

Did I ever say people enlist for war? Im saying that the people who sign up expect war, because its the army, thats what it does.

Again, in my humble opinion I think you're wrong. People who enlist after years and years and years without any appreciable conflict of any kind more likely than not enlist thinking (and quite possibly hoping) that during their enlistment they won't ever have to do anything more difficult than that which they experience under the direction of their DI during bootcamp.
Case in point ~ a good friend of mine is in the Air Force and has been for close to 20 years now (she is a Senior Master Sergeant at this stage in the game) She joined the service to get free housing and a guaranteed paycheck. Shoot with the career field she chose even if WWIII broke out her unit isn't even mobile and she wouldn't go anywhere! I'm fairly certain she didn't join expecting war of any kind even though there have been two (counting the current one) major conflicts during her tenure in the Air Force.

How is that insane? Its a PARTY not a way of life or something, when you are "democratic" you vote for a majority of democrats, which liberals do. I understand you can go both ways, but liberals vote democratic, end of story.

Thats rediculous, anyone who signs up for the military should not be suprised if they get called to arms. My main point was the argument that are soldiers are out there, forced against their will fighting a war they dont want do be in. Basically the left is trying hard to turn this into another vietnam.

I'm not disagreeing with anything in the quoted post, d00d.

What I took issue with was your statement of "if you vote Democrat then you are a Democrat."

When taken in the context in which you posted it and looking at it flat on its face then that is a completely incorrect generalization.

Case in point (as stated previously) I have voted Democrat in the past, though those occasions for me were the exception rather than the rule.

I am not a Democrat.
