The zapco version:

Good times.

**** did Zapco have a love affair with Memphis or something ? That powder coating on the baskets on the end looks like the same exact memphis orange //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Oh wait I know.... Fi?

**** Scott is the man to be able to hide the asian accent the way he does if that's the case. He does a helluva lot better job than the people from Atomic //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Really, like Image Dynamics? How about Jl Audio? RE? IA? TC? Oh wait I know.... Fi? How about Focal, MB Quart or Hertz?

I think what he was referring more to is the fact that a vast majority of parts are sourced overseas. At least until the bottom drops out over there and all hell breaks loose...

In today's market, searching for a company who gets NOTHING from China is folly. I imagine even a highly proprietary company like JL gets some stuff from 'over seas'. So if his comment was on raw parts, I fail to see the point.

However, there are still solid American manufacturers building top notch equipment. Do not succumb to the idea we must get everything from China.

Major hats off to them if *everything* is made in USA. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

MbQ is generally made in Germany (use to be exclusively iirc). Im guessing that's a driver purchased from an American buildhouse, solely for the American market. Nice to see.
It's a product from when MBQ was owned by Rockford Fosgate and they manufactured their subs and amplifiers.

should say something along the lines of "Made in USA of Chinese parts"
The implication in that statement is unfair.
The American base materials industry is in the toilet. Steel, textiles, etc... That statement is true of virtually any industry in this country these days. Even the cars themselves.

My favorite are the people driving around in a "Made in America" Toyota telling themselves its true. Assembly, relatively speaking, is a very small portion of the costs (and therefore profits) of manufacturing a car. This is not true of a subwoofer. Care of assembly, and mating with custom parts to complete the custom assembly, is critical in speaker building.

Oops Im rambling I think.

Ah.

I see the term "Assembled in USA" or "Assembled in Canada" quite often... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
