The infamous how many batts question....

Got an Expedition w/ a stock 130 amp alternator... Have a Crossfire vr1000d that's on a Memphis M3 15 D2 wired to 1ohm. Get some minor headlight dimming at night.

My plan was to sell my crossfire, and buy an AQ 2200 and another Memphis M3.

Anyone who wants to help me and can answer my question as to how many batteries I'll need, and if my alt can support the load.

buy one battery from my sig. and that will hold up to 2500 rms with that alt. should be perfect for ur aq 2200.

While I'm doing this, should I go ahead and do the Big 3? And sometime shortly after getting all this in, I plan on purchasing an AQ 90x4 and some components for my front doors. Which leads me to another question. How do I take care of both sets of my components. Just buy two 90x4's? I confuse myself sometimes when I think too hard.

1 good Group 31 batt will do it no problem but you may wanna look into an alt too.

The BIG 3 is a must do IMO.... it's been proven with even smaller systems that it makes a difference.... You didn't mention what kind of battery you have under the hood, but the way I have it figured is that if you get a standard size AGM style group 34/78 battery, which usually run 55AH Then you'll need at the least one more group 31 size to get close to keeping up.... A HO alternator is a good recommendation if you can afford it but the extra battery will definitely help keep up as long as you don't push it too hard for too long of periods of time.... 2 group 31's will give plenty of headroom for future upgrades like the 4 channel but I wouldn't do two unless you got the HO alternator, or add a second one....
