the ideal speaker setup?

i've heard many things about what to do and what not to do. i've heard just get 6.5 comps up front and thats it. i've heard DO NOT do rear fill. i've heard rear fill enhances the front stage. i've heard about 8" midbass drivers. my question is, what is a good speaker setup?

see, that's the problem. i dont have any experience with sound systems really. i haven't heard much, that's why i'm coming to you guys for input. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

a simple 6.5" component set would do you just fine. You can usally find a good sounding but also loud set in the 100-200 range. what does your budget look like? and what kinda power are you gonna be workin with?

well i'm looking to spend ABOUT $150 give or take a little on 6.5 comps and i cant really tell ya how much power, because i'm not yet decided on which comps or if i'm going to get more speakers. the comps i have been looking at are the cdt cl-61a's and the pg rsd's. but like i've said, i have no clue on what else to do with my speaker setup. i was thinking possibly getting some 6x9s in the rear, but i've heard mainly bad things about doing that.

That's a loaded question. You can get good sound via many different setups, including rear fill. However, for someone relatively new to a car audio system, a simple 6.5" system should do nicely. Get your feet wet first with this foundation, then you can build on that based on your results. For best possible sound, play with various speaker locations, angles, crossover points, gain, etc. Good luck.

I really like the CDT 61 a's for the money. Like dipity doo said. play with different angles also. that can make a world of difference
