The DTV switch just took place

then its not HD anymore, its just plain ****in tv
most of the dtv stations I get are HD and I believe that most around the country are HD.

just because its digital doesnt mean everyone will get HD. there is still a difference.
You only get HD if you have an HD ready TV.

You only get HD if you have an HD ready TV.
youll only get HD if you pay for the HD stations like you already are. There is the HD antenna you can buy and get some channels but if you are hooked up to cable and have just standard cable you arent going to get free HD channels.

confusing? no never, i just wanna watch tv, i dont care if i can see the colors of someones breast implant scars. HD? you mean tv looks diff between HD and regular? i swear its exactly the same, yes i have new glasses already

Lol, there's a huge difference between HD and regular. Not so much difference between 720 and 1080, but big difference between 480 and 720.

If you have an Xbox360, go into the settings. Change the display settings to 720p and then change it to 480, then tell me if you see a difference.

Chances are you've never seen any HD programming if you think it looks the same.

x2 I lOVE HD. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

I see a difference, but for me it's more of a question of whether or not I want to buy a new TV to take advantage of that, mind-numbing shit in higher-definition is still shit to me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

There is the HD antenna you can buy
Just to clarify for anyone who doesn't know, there's no such thing as "HD" specific antennas...any standard UHF antenna will work.

Shouldnt this theoretically improve the quality of cable programming too?
Since the signal is digital, it wont be susceptible to noise like analog.
it can still recieve interference....just on different channels

like here in tampa, brighthouse has ingress issues on channel 7 and ch 12, and after the analog channels stop broadcasting on the same frequencies that we are using, that will disappear, but the problem will arise somewhere else......just with digital, its no longer snow, its macroblocking...

depends on the company

we broadcast the local HD channels on what they call a clear qam, people with HD sets connected to basic cable, still get some local channels in HD

and if you have a box, we offer free HD, some companies are doing that, and some are charging a few extra bucks a month for it, as they should...

thank you

people come up to me if im in uniform at the store from time to time, asking about DVT and HD antennas

i tell then you dont need a "Powered ant. or a amplified ant" just a regular antenna will do the job

We're not talking about cable. Over the air broadcast is now for the most part HD. At least in my area.
