This is my first post, excuse me if this is a screw up.
Okay, so I have been working on my car for about 6 months now and need some help on where to go next.
I have a 2012 Jetta SportWagon TDI with the 10-speaker sound system. For those that have not experienced the joy of the inteligent tw*t that designed the door panels in this car, the midbass is located at the bottom of the door, all the way at the back, the midrange is pretty much smack bang in the middle and the tweeter was in the sail panel. But... no more, not in my car.
In terms of the equipment I have that is in, or is going in:
Head: Alpine INA 910BT
Fronts: Focal 165 VR3 (3 way comps, 6.5 - 4 - tweet)
Rear: Nothing right now
Amps: Steg 04:01 (Front Stage)
Steg 02:02 (Sub(s))
Sub: Alpine Type R12 (will replace with a polyglass 13, or two 11s).
I orginally started this build with a pair of KRX2s (2way comps) with the mid in the midbass location and the tweeter molded in to the sail panel. Loud as hell, sounded like crap though. Okay, so I got rid of these and got the Polyglass 3-ways.
So far I have everything installed but the front stage. I have the 6.5 midbass in a molded pod at the front of the door and the tweeter molded in to the sail panel. So my questions is this:
Do I mold the 4-inch mid and the tweeter in to the A-pillar or,
Leave the tweeter in the sail panel and put the mid in the A-pillar or,
Put the 4-inch mid back in the door and the leave the tweeter in the sail panel.
Before going nuts with my fiberglass and bondo I wanted to get some advice. Thanks for any usefull info you may have!
I will try to post a picture of my molded pod //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
