The big 3 just don't get it, nobody wants American cars.

What about consumer reports? They have given American autos good reviews. What about the Motor Trend car of the year?

Pretty **** sure I'd take an IS-f over the CTS anyday of the week.

**** what does it take to get called a gook around here?

my uncle has an 85 or 86 or something like that mercedes e 300 (whatever the 300 series was then might be a c? i dono)

and it has about 289,000 miles and still a daily driver //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

i prefer to just build my vehicle from scratch tubular steel i have lying around and power it with cheap chevy power lol a 350 will not only go for 150k miles, but after it wears out i can bore it .030 over stick correct size pistons in it with a rebuild kit and run it for another 150k miles lol and the rebuild might cost me 500-800$

I've never owned anything but American and never will. I've worked for companies like Mazda, Hyundai, and I'd take an American car over one of those things anyday. I've had two Monte Carlos and both were over 170,000 miles, a Chrysler that I sold at 156,000 miles and my Blazer currently has over 155,000 miles. The parts can be a lot cheaper on American cars compared to Jap cars too. Not to say the Japs don't make a decent car, cause they do make some good ones. But I'd rather spend a little extra money if I have to in order to keep American UNION workers working and keep the American economy going more than I want to help the Japanese economy going.

What they don't get it is....

the days of beating people over the head with prices for SUVs and trucks while they collected ill margins, which balanced out the losses they took on each small vehicle sold...those days are over.

Gas may be at last years levels, but the sour taste of 4-dollar-a-gallon gas still resonates on the taste buds of the US. Very few people want the gas-guzzlers.

Now, small vehicles are the only game in town. And these guys never knew how to make those cars both sexy and profitable, or either for that matter.

i sold off my 2002 lexus gs300 after i bought my hhr in 2007. it was paid off by the way and while not as luxurious it was easier to maintain considering i have owned my hhr for 18 months and just broke 15000 miles. although the lex was V6 it was a gas hog.

also had a 2001 ranger with over 150K when i sold it to my brother. it now has 180K and running fine, just basic maintainence. i had a 2000 monte and a 1997 that had over 100k on them and rode fine. not to mention my nissan hardbody and toyota corrola sr-5 all crapped out on me to a certain degree compared to my domestic purchases. the ease of maintaining domestic vehicles due to the vast amount of parts really does make a difference.

American cars and trucks FTW

I will NEVER own or drive anything else.

The japs have yet to make a heavy duty one ton pickup that I would even give a chance. The big 3 have them beat by a long shot...

that's why they need to be bailed out right

Import, specifically JDM take pride in their products, there are more 90's and older hondas out there than any other american car
