Do you even know how crappy the retirement is? 28k a year gross that isn't even entirely paid by the big 3. What happened to the money that was suppose to have been vested in their retirement? The majority of US citizens don't even keep a car for more than 100k miles, in that time period nothing major should break in any make of car, whether it be American of Foreign.

You guys are completely missing the fawking point... It's not the cars, their cars are the least of their worries. It is a combination of large overhead costs {FA (P&E, M&E) & underfunded pensions } , higher variable costs (wages & health care) and a decreasingly productive workforce (no declines in productivity but less gains per year or Marginal productivity increases).
Their competition can make a similar to better quality car for less money even when the American government puts high tariffs on their products. Honda, Nissan, and Toyota have been pwning American manaufacturers for almost 2 decades as far as innovation.

I hope their workfoce gets handed their fawking pink slip from their 80k/year production line jobs and their unions fail.

Yes, those new Chrysler van's that have the swiveling seats and the pop up table, Toyota's previa has been doing that for 16 years now, with the lack of a table.

Anyway, the only way I'd ever buy American if I needed a 3/4 ton+ plus truck. Even then it would be a hard decision over the new Tundras and Titans. All the companies own so many makes of cars that I don't imagine any of them going under anytime soon.

i have had 3 cars and they been American made cars. And none of them have been good. i had a buick with low miles well low for its age it had so many issues. I had a ford not worth sayin what happen to that. And i had another ford but that was dirt cheap and lasted 6 weeks.
