The Best SQ HU!

IMHO They have never made anything of quality that can stand the test of time compared against some of the other manufacturer's. Name one Eclipse deck that has been around for years and been a consistent top performer.
I can name a few of them from Alpine, Clarion, McIntosh, Nakamichi, Sony and even Kenwood but no Eclipse deck's come to mind. Back when people in IASCA competed in Sound Quality and not SPL I don't ever recall seeing an Eclipse head unit in any of the winning vehicles I have have been to a ton of shows in the past 10-12 years.

Ok, so basically your opinion of Eclipse in general is not based off of personal experience with any of their head units. I mean if you had an eclipse HU, and it consistently screwed up and you just got sick of dealing with it, I could understand why you dont like them.

Im not trying to be biased, but ive had an Eclipse 8443 for a little over 2yrs now. No I cant say its been perfect, the 1st one I had was a dud & I had to send it back in.

Its done some weird things over time, but when its working, it works very well.

The only complaint I have over 2yrs with mine is once in a while it randomly starts turning the volume up/down. Im talking once every 2-3 days, not really enough to be anoying. At one point I even thought the sub was to blame, but even with low volume it does it.

Not really enough of an anoyance for me to hate the thing really. Every batch has its random lemon IMO, guess I got 1 lol.

There can be no other explanation, because even Johnny Dumba$$ on the street knows Eclipse is for real.

It's interesting that you're talking about competition and don't mention the Pioneer ODR or P9, yet you talk about Kenwood decks...

Yes, but not every Johnny Dumbass has to like Eclipse either. I'm a long time Pioneer user and you see he left that brand out too. But its NO big deal to me.

some people prefer eclipse, but thats not to say that is everyones favorite. i have had over a dozen eclipse decks, but i really like alpines as well. when you consider a deck, you not only consider how it sounds, but looks, functions, user friendliness, how you navigate the features, etc... i love how my alpine works, more so than any of the eclipses i own, but just because one says what they like, doesnt mean another is bad. chill out.

Alipine rocks too, the only difference between them and eclipse isnt very large. I just prefer the volume of 0-80 on the eclipe were you can fine tune on a specific volume. Were with alpine once your into the mid 20s its pretty **** loud. Its just easier to find a comfort are with the eclipse IMO.

Say your at 23 and you want a bit more, you go to 24 and its a big jump compared to say 60 - 65 would be on the eclipse. Ive had my cd8053 for a few days now and I must say that while I love it...ease of use goes to my CDA-9827, but im learning more and more everyday.

if you're knocking the sony c90 for an sq deck then you really no right to be placing any eclipse over it......sony used to make some BA sq decks
