not disrespecting the quality of his work. Just saying that the customer had a problem and when i suggest an answer i get smart *** remarks.
Smart *** remarks?
Ok.
Anyways, the customer asked for 80sq^in, 28Hz tune, 8.0 after. We recommended 70sq^in because the vent velocity was very, very low with the power he was going to be running. (2,000 rms)
Then he and I stated what we thought of the woofer. No one on the net liked that response. Other said 125-150sq^in port. I checked.. The enclosure would be over 14cu^ft before displacement. Which I'm not sure if Manny even has that much room in his vehicle. Plus the port would be for example... 15" x 10" x 58" L
Building a port that large, that long in an enclosure would be tough. Which means we'd have to charge the customer quite a bit more. But that isn't the point.
Imo, the enclosure isn't built incorrectly. we're so sure of that, we're going to build Manny another. As soon as he figures out what he wants to do.
I do have (4) brand new 2005 XXX 15's sitting at the shop. We should throw those in for a comparison test.
But like I said on this board before in other threads...
"They're very loud, no doubt.
It's not that they didn't have a low end. Because they did. They just don't have the authority like other woofers with ALOT of low-end. It's authority is 40Hz, no doubt.
GREAT F'N woofer for the money, no doubt!
I recommend them to anyone!
I really hope they break in and start dropping low with authority. With that said, it will be a forced to be reckoned with when it comes to the subwoofer market. The high frequencies are brutal. Match that up with some vicious low-end. Right there you have an unbeatable combination."
