no hard feelings. I will be talking to you too see your design. But understand that Ray at SS designed this current one. And...I know its personal opinion but I think he is one of if not the best in the.....well...a very large place.

i was hopeing they were just a sub issue, i wanted to try a trio of the 10s or something in a SUV, because they are cheap, but now i think i'll look at some Bm, if they come in 10s

it doesnt show to change anything thow, except raise port velocity to a very, very high point.

Apparently port noise will be seen if I throw these things 5000 plus watts. Port seems fine. But like I said, I am goin to do another box...just cause.

Why dont you try them sealed and supplement the low-end with some equalization?

You have 2 high excursion 15s, they have more than enough displacement to have crazy authority around 20hz.

All a subwoofer is doing is transferring electrical energy into acoustical energy...its just displacing air. The characterisitics of the subwoofer shape the response and when it should start rolling-off (high Qts driver dig deeper usually b/c they reach maximum excursion later and low Qts driver "spl drivers" dont dig as deep as HT drivers because they reach maximum excursion earlier)

soo...your Q 15 should be able to dig as deep or high as you like (within reason) its just a matter of what electrical equalization or motion feedback you apply to the response of the woofer which is shaped by its motor strength, Mms, suspesion stiffness, and Fs

Yeah they look awesome, and at a GREAT price too!

There is no reason you couldnt get it to sound just like a Mag 15...or any other high displacement, low distortion woofer.

The Q15 should displace just as much air (im not including xmag in this, because daily drivers typically are looking for sound quality and not distorted bass) as the Mag 15, its just a matter of shaping the response to that of the Mag.
