Think of it this way...the war put $400billion into the economy...take that money out of the economy....those people whose jobs depend on iraq spending...are now jobless.

You obviously have an education, but come on now the war spending put $400 billion in the economy - where is it and why then are we in a recession. Whose job depends on iraq spending - US Military and who pays the US Military, the US Government - so the left hand is paying the right hand. Answer this then, who is really jobless today - not the military, but every day working citizens at the GM plant, you know the 20,000 people who got laid off last year.

Most all of the war spending went to profits of large companies like Halliburton. Plus, they have many employees overseas who are not obligated to pay taxes if they are there for a specified time, I can't remember, it's 12 - 24 months. This trickle down BS certain people put out there is bunk. They give large tax cuts to corporations to expand their businesses or build, well who makes up that company's fair portion of tax? Other consumers, that's who. It's a never ending cycle that is catching up with us. Most all of this war spending translates into huge profits for a small percentage of higher ups with little effect on good paying SUSTAINABLE jobs for the US marketplace.

Because it is the 21st Century - our dependancy on foreign oil is unjustifiable. Drill in Alaska, drill of the coast of Florida.

and just because it has been done since the beginning of time doesn't mean it is ethically or morally right.
