They may, or hopefully they will be smarter with their money and pay off the energy or phone bills. The poor do not make up the majority of who will be receiving this rebate. Majority will save and or pay bills. Like I said, eventually spending habits need to change.

The whole thing is stupid. The gov't is borrowing the money to add to a deficit of unheardof proportions. Plus, you have to count it as income next year on your taxes. It's not even going to help teh economy. Polls are showing only 19% of people are actually going to spend it on goods. The rest are using it to pay off debt or save. There were so many better ways to do it but dumbass Bush is showing his stupidity once again
People in this country make money off of it. There is no way the government will "miss" a payment.

The gov't misses payments everyday. The day will come when these bozos in washington will realize they are playing with real money.
