I have a pretty killer set up in my c5 vette system but i used speakers for my doors from what i had laying around on my shelf. the system is loud as can be with 4"kicker, 8" ssw in the front doors and 6.5" alpines (old) in the rears. My sub is a Skar 15" and its way more then enough. sound pretty good but i want better I want crisper/cleaner sound.

question.. if you could pick the best component speakers for this set up.. what would they be. my component speakers do have a nice clarion 4-way amp to power them.

thanks for any input.

Are you still using the factory head unit? If so, that will prevent a crisper top end. I would also change out the amp to an SQ amp. As for the speakers, if you like silk dome tweeters, check out the Morel Supremo 602. If you like the higher highs of a titanium tweeter, check out the JBL Arena X 36Be. I have actually heard the JBL's, and they are extremely good sounding, and loud, speakers. Just make sure you properly prep the doors with sound deadening materials.

I sos swap out the head unit to a decent sony double din.

I will check out those speakers ☺️ thanks

Umm … I didn’t know 6.5” car speakers could cost that w😂😂 $5k 😮😮😮

There are some fantastic 2-components out there. But when it comes to clean crisp female vocals and smoother upper end, I have not found a 2-way component that sounded better than a 6-3-tweet 3-way speaker component set.

Wow.. I learned some new info lol iv never heard of all these speakers and had no idea they get this expensive.

I figured you guys would suggest $300 type pairs and that would be top of the line stuff.. lol so upgrading my vette wont be as cheap as I thought.

Also sounds like kicker, sony alpine etc. are junk compared to this stuff 😬

You can get pretty good speakers for $300. It's kinda like a vette, sure you could get Ferrari, but how much better is it than a vette? Law of diminishing returns. For $300, I'd look at NVX, CDT, Morel.
